How 2 Wear Separates: The Jacket

Doggie Disclaimer: They keep interrupting my shoots :/

Shirt, Shoes, and Jacket:  Forever 21  / Jeans: Store in my hometown  / Necklace: Miss A / Sunglasses: Stolen from a Friend :)

To be or Not to be that is the question.. ~Shakespeare~
Well that is not the question for today, but just so happen that is what my shirt reads. I was so geeked about this shirt because I really liked Hamlet in high school (I was kind of a book worm).

As promised here is part 2 of the blog series: How to wear Separates: The Jacket.
I find it quite interesting that one article of clothing can inspire an entire outfit. This one shirt gave rise to my entire look. I knew I wanted to dress up the shirt because I think graphic tees are one of the easiest transition pieces. In this look, the jacket is more of an accent to the outfit instead of being the focal point. My advice for styling blazers is to use the blazer to complete the look. The blazer was the last thing I added because it gave the outfit a much needed pop.
Hope this helps you with styling your suit blazers!

How 2 Wear Separates: The Full Suit

Suit:Forever 21 / Top: Plato's Closet / Necklace: Previous Blogged / Purse: old from Shoedazzle / Shoes: Old from shoedazzle

Before I write anything let me write a disclaimer about my photos: I was photo bombed by dogs as I was blogging this particular series. So PLEASE excuse their rudeness.

I am separates girl! I LOVE to build several outfits around a suit. So of course I decided to a blog series on how to get the most use out of a suit. This particular suit is one I previously posted on my personal Instagram. For those who do not know I am high school teacher as well (pauses for reaction) Yes HIGH SCHOOL!  Well, we recently had homecoming and I wore this blush pink suit to the Homecoming game in honor of the Breast Cancer Awareness theme. I had so many questions about it I thought it would be perfect for this blog post.
I paired this suit with a cute sequin top and black pumps for a sexy classy look. I just wanted to add a little flair to it, but not over do it. Can you believe I got the suit from FOREVER21! The entire suit was under $60 and the quality is amazing! Definitely one of my smarter purchases :)

Stay Tuned for How 2 Wear Separates: The Blazer

Gray x Black

Shirt: Forever 21 / Skirt: Make Me Chic / Necklace: Charlotte Russe (last year) / Shoes: Target via Dirt Cheap / Purse: Made by Me

Two colors that you can never go wrong with: gray and black! At the moment, these are two of my favorite neutrals because they go with just about everything. I have been buying A LOT of gray shirts and black shirts lately. Anything from basic V-necks to crop tops I am just obsessing over them. (Lets hope I discover some other colors..soon) BUT until I do I am having fun playing with these two neutrals and just making them Sing sweet fashion songs with cute accessories.

Trend Alert: Distressed Denim

Denim: Distressed by Bee / Shoes: Nasty Gal / Arm Candy: A belt Dee made into a arm cuff / Top: by Dee

Handmade clutch  and distressed denim by Bee / top: ratchet store in my hometown  / Belt: thrift store / shoes: Target via Dirt Cheap / Sunnies: Love Culture / Arm Candy: Random bracelets / Necklace: vintage

TREND ALERT! TREND ALERT! Distressed Denim is everywhere and to be honest it is a long time favorite of ours. We have both been distressing denim for years causing us to only have denim with massive holes and rips. It is something about knowing you can purposely rip holes in something and no one will judge you for it...THE BEST. We have taken the trend and made it our own because that is what you are suppose to do with trends make them unique to you! On top of all that we found a new place to take our blog pictures can you say AMPED. Finding new scenery is always a plus and we have been on the hunt for months. (definitely off topic, but its okay.)

Back to this distressed denim, we want to give you some tips and hints for distressing your own denim.

1. Use your old denim or thrift store denim. Why? because it is inexpensive and if you mess them up you are not out of a lot of money. (FYI: if you have never done it before will mess up your first pair.) AND yes our denim is from the thrift store. $10 total for the skirt and the pants!

2. Try to use denim that is 100% cotton. This is the BEST for distressing because it frays and rips really well.  Denim material with spandex does not rip as well.

3. Try different methods of distressing. You can use: sandpaper, knives, blades, scissors, and really anything with a sharp edge or rough surface.
